JUILLETDANSE

7th edition...
DANCE FOR CHANGE!

Africa and her descendants are ever-present when it comes to dancing. In Hip-hop, Salsa, Modern, Jazz, Tango, Rock and roll, contemporary, with Michael Jackson... and many more. It is difficult to avoid her on our dancing path. She has, and is still offering a huge gift to the world. Moments of happiness, enjoyment, relaxation, openness, inspiration. Moments to balance and feed soul, body and spirit. By showcasing various dancing styles from the South, the juilletdanse festival wishes to pay tribute to Africa and to the people who, together, created these styles in different parts of the world and through History’s tears and laughter.

The 7th juilletdanse festival carries the theme of activism! With the urban project “Move in town – l’Or bleu” (blue Gold) stretching beyond borders and calling for deeper consideration to the water scarcity problem in the world, the festival confirms its socio-political commitment.

Linked by simultaneous action and a common message, the different creators in various countries take the street and free themselves from structural hindrance toward a common vision: dancing belong to human beings who, through their body and soul, carry messages and the responsibility towards humanity in order to start the change.

I am looking forward to sharing this festival with you!
