RWANDAN DANCES
Nido Uwera (Rwanda/Paris)
Sunday 6 July 11h00-13h30, all levels
Elegance and grace
Celebrating sacred cattle, token of social status, former hunters’ braveness and women‘s perfect beauty, Rwandan dances are a sublime combination of elegance and grace.
From a young age, Nido Uwera was trained by the masters of the last Rwandan Royal Ballet. In France, she created and leads the Mpore troupe and researches along with various artists such as Elsa Wolliaston and Pierre Doussaint, Robyn Orlin, Norma Claire, Koffi Koko, Yoshi Oida. She is greatly appreciated as a teacher in many countries of Europe and in Mexico.
Following the success of her first class at the 2012 edition of juilletdanse, Nido Uwera will show, once again, the unending richness of African dancing in an assertive and seducing manner.
